Future Potential Organizations Part 1: Change Management

Abstract

THE AIM OF THE PAPER

The first part of our conceptual paper provides an overview of the model of future potential organizations, which is considered a new concept in management terminology, distinct from sustainability. In this article, we analyze the management solutions that can be used to create a future potential operation. We examine the conditions for achieving vision at three levels of organizational functioning and explore the change management steps that can be taken to achieve vision.

METHODOLOGY

While this paper was being created, we were guided by the need to introduce the concept of the future potential organization model to the domestic academic community and practitioners alike. To this end, our paper presents a theoretical framework and draws on a literature analysis.

MOST IMPORTANT RESULTS

At the micro level of the operation of future potential organization, it is recognized that not all employees’ organizational commitment is equally important, i.e. turnover should be taken for granted in order to optimize resources and foster organizational innovation. At the meso level, managerial decision-making focuses on ethical leadership practices rather than on decisions that maximize profit. And at the macro level of vision, the organization is consciously influencing national culture in such a way that it can more effectively serve the interests and needs of its stakeholders through change, while at the same time helping to create its own vision.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Organizations that can fully function as described in the study and have perfect future potential are still rare today. We believe, however, that if organizations embrace the goals of vision and seek to change their routines to achieve them, the domestic business sector will not only take significant steps towards its own survival but will also contribute to the future potential of society.
