Note on the Sustainable Assessment Methods for Buildings

Abstract

In the last decades there has been a growing movement towards sustainable buildings and the greening of building practices. Therefore, it is not surprising that the role and availability of quantitative and qualitative methods regarding the assessment of buildings’ sustainability, and approaches suitable for the examination of economic, social and environmental effects of buildings and the built environment has been appreciated. The goal of this article is to highlight the principles and main characters of existing methods and tools of sustainable building assessment.
