Abstract

The study focuses on the psychological and demographic factors influencing bio food consumption. A survey study was applied on a student sample. The respondents regard the bio foods healthier, of higher quulity, more environmental friendly but more expensive than conventional foods. Factors hindering consumption are the price of bio foods and the lack of trust in the production method. On the basis of Rokeach’s the target value examination, the most important factors to respondents include traditional values, self-respect, efficiency and internal harmony.
