Absztrakt

This article proposes that normal classroom activities can be enhanced by adding student-student interaction and by students considering how to apply their learning for social good, i.e., as part of citizenship. These additions can promote learning, enjoyment, and students’ social skills and sense of purpose. The need for these additions and how to implement them are the gap this article seeks to fill. The specific example of this enhancement via cooperation and citizenship involves the K-W-L (Know, Want to know, and Learned) technique. K-W-L can be used in many subjects. While the technique is normally used with reading activities, it can also be used when students watch videos, consult an Artificial Intelligence agent or the internet, etc.
