Hungary's European integration also marks a turning point in the history of its international relations. Our country must strive to enforce its national interests as effectively as possible, while respecting the EU rules. As part of this, special attention must be paid to rethinking its international relations system, with an emphasis on the region south of the Sahara. Hungary must participate more intensively than before in the community development policy, since our economic presence in Africa is minimal.
The key to the successful implementation of the former is the development of a well-considered and long-term Africa policy. The role of the government is necessarily linked to this, since international development cooperation directly affects the activities of numerous ministries and business associations. Hungarian products can be competitive in Africa, but this requires the establishment of close partnerships.
