The role of international security and Suez in the globalized post-Cold War era
Abstract
The importance of the Suez Canal beside technical developments and globalization in general terms is imperishable. Many commercial, energy-related, security policy and economic aspects are standing as reasons to guarantee the free usage of this water route which is at least as important in today’s multipolarizing world as it was during the Cold War. Because of the complexity of this question, the author examines numerous aspects of the topic in both theoretically and in practical ways, especially, as far as the economic and energy-realted aspects of security, furthermore the geopolitical chess games of the whole Mediterranean region, the Arab peninsula and the Middle East are concerned
