Abstract

The educational systems of African states face serious challenges, yet their development can be considered a vital national interest. Albeit one of the most conflict-free states in Africa, the situation in Tanzania is no different. This article presents the activities of the Tanzánia Barátai Alapítvány (Friends of Tanzania Foundation), established in 1997, focussed on creating social institutions in Northern Tanzania, highlighting the latest project of this privately initiated organisation.
