Abstract

The countries of the international community have recently recognized that the Somali Transitional Federal Government is unable to effectively fulfill its role, so they are trying to put pressure on its leaders to be able to at least perform the basic activities expected of the government. Of course, this assumes a different approach from both sides, among which the Somali government should create some level of stability in the volatile domestic political situation, while the Islamist organizations opposing it take advantage of its helplessness. It is clear that in Somalia, military and political means must be used simultaneously in order to stabilize the country. However, before going any further, let us briefly examine Somalia itself.
