A Brief Overview of the Main Steps of the European Union's Migration Policy - The Solid Programme
Abstract
The European Union's migration policy has continuously developed over the past decades marked by significant treaties such as the Maastricht and Amsterdam Treaties. This study traces the most important milestones in the development and regulation of the EU's migration policy, from the founding treaties to the institutional and regulatory efforts of the European Immigration and Asylum Pact and the Stockholm Program, including a detailed description of the SOLiD programme.
