Abstract

When we deal with the conflict in Western Sahara, several topics that also affect the security of European countries come to the fore, such as drug and arms smuggling or legal-illegal migration. In my article, I deal with migration through Western Sahara. Western Sahara is an integral part of the Maghreb region, from where the majority of African migrants arrive in Western Europe. This type of migration is partly historical, as the people living here came into close contact with the former colonial powers, Spain and France, and with people from other African countries seeking a better life (or even survival).
