With Regard to Emil Torday’s Life and Work

Abstract

It is well known that the encyclopaedias, databases, the shorter or longer biographies of various authors usually contain many inaccuracies. This „note” collects confusions, writings aside, even, rather serious mistakes for the most part in relation to the great Hungarian Africa researcher, Emil Torday. The intention here is to offer a point of reference for the future, first, for those who use the resources, second, for those who compile them.
