Vol. 5 (2022): Law - Right - Society
The theme of the fifth volume of Pontes once again reflects a jubilee. The organizing principle of the essays selected for the issue is the 800th anniversary of the publication of the Hungarian Golden Bull in 1222, and the concepts of law, justice and society are the main themes. Although our primary aim was not to provide a thorough analysis of the decree, which played a prominent role in Hungarian history, the programme's main focus is on a particularly interesting aspect of the issue, the incorporation of the Golden Bull into historical mythology, as described in detail by Attila Zsoldos, the most knowledgeable expert on the subject. The articles in the volume represent primarily - but not exclusively - the results of the research of colleagues working at the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Pécs, and in some cases their personal opinions, since one of the missions of our annual is to present local research results on a broad scale. Accordingly, the papers provide an insight into legal and social history research from the 4th century BC to the present days.
