Abstract

The study attempts to review the religions of the extremely colorful African continent. This is not an easy task, since, similar to its ethnic and linguistic diversity, sub-Saharan Africa is also religiously diverse. The author briefly introduces tribal religions, local beliefs, and even goes as far as independent African churches, placing great emphasis on the spread and history of the two book religions. Finally, he discusses the past and present conflicts between the Christian and Muslim opposition. A great read that offers a glimpse into the continent's religious world without claiming to be comprehensive.
