This time, African Studies has reached the last stop of its Nobel Prize series, presenting the life stories of Africans who have won the Nobel Peace Prize. The largest number of winners in this category are from the black continent, with a total of ten Nobel Peace Prize winners from Africa.
In the past month, two more Liberian women have joined the ranks of those who have won the prestigious award. It is sad news that one of the laureates, Wangari Maathai, has since passed away. The journal African Studies commemorates the Kenyan Maathai in a separate article.
