Abstract

The Zsolnay Light Festival appeared in the tourism spectrum of Pécs in 2016 immediately achieving a
prominent place in the supply of the city. The innovative approach, the quality and quantity parameters of
the event unequivocally overshadow the traditional events of Pécs well demonstrated by its outstanding
demand over the merely 3 days.
During the survey the authors analysed the viewpoint of the actors of tourism and also the demand in
connection with the Zsolnay Light Festival, based on which we can squarely state that the event corresponds
to all those parameters due to which it could become a prominent tourism attraction in the supply of the city.
Beyond this the survey also pointed out that through adequate developments and marketing activities the
event could also be developed to an international attraction due to which the tourism of the city could be
significantly valorised as well.
