Although there may be other interpretations, globalization refers to the widening and deepening of economic, political, social and cultural connections and interdependence. Globalization is defined in various ways: as a process of increasing economic, political, and social connections and global integration, where capital, traded goods, people, concepts, images, ideas, and values flow across national borders. In its basic sense, globalization refers to the long-term, planetary-scale current characterized by the increasing interdependence and interpenetration of the world's economies.
