Conference of Continents with An Uncertain Result
Abstract
In December 2007 the statesmen of Africa and the European Union gathered for a two-day conference in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. After seven years of the Cairo Summit in 2000 the discussion of the leaders of the two continents became reasonable because of many current issues such as illegal migration, international criminal acts, political and economic instability in Africa, and last but not least Chinese expansion on the African continent. Even though there was no breakthrough in the end, yet a dialogue was reinforced about the controversial questions on the agenda.
