Abstract

The Ubuntu International Youth Voluntary Service Award Gala and Conference was held for the first time in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 28 to 30 September 2009. The main idea of the award is to celebrate
the values created by the work of European and African volunteers, drawing attention to the development opportunities arising from the relationships established between volunteers and local communities.
