Abstract

Sixteen young Transylvanian volunteers participated in a volunteer camp in the Republic of Kenya in August 2011. The idea was born in 2010, when Balázs Halmen, a geography student from Cluj-Napoca, volunteered for 4 months on Rusinga Island in the eastern part of Lake Victoria. After returning home, he shared his experiences with his friends, and as a result of a few conversations, the school-building project called I have a brick in Kenya was born.
