Abstract

This research is about social work in psychotherapy wards in Hungary. Do these wards employ social workers? If yes, what are their daily tasks and responsibilities? Can social workers utilize the competencies that they have acquired during their professional training? The results indicate that social workers are employed part-time and they usually respond to occasional calls from the psychotherapy wards. In these cases, they are responsible for connecting the patients to social services only, and they cannot utilize much of what they have learned during their training.
