Mission
Szociális Szemle (Social Review) provides a forum for social professionals – practitioners and academics – to share their latest advances in knowledge and practice in the field of social work. Its main mission is to contribute to the presentation of international and domestic challenges in sustainable development and related proposed solutions, and to represent the distinct characteristics of social work research.
Following the Global Definition of Social Work by the International Federation of Social Workers (2014, available at https://www.ifsw.org/what-is-social-work/global-definition-of-social-work/), Social Review encourages authors to adopt a systemic perspective in their analyses, with a focus on the person-in-environment and on the strong connection between practice and research. Suggested areas and themes include:
-
Reflections on social and environmental issues, and theoretical and empirical contributions to the common focus of the Global Definition of Social Work and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This common focus is expressed in The People’s Charter for an Eco-Social World (2022): https://newecosocialworld.com/the-peoples-charter-for-an-eco-social-world/
-
Empirical studies in the areas of applied social research and social work research (e.g., programme evaluation, policy analysis, or needs assessment in its broadest sense)
