Mission
Social Review provides a forum for social professionals – practitioners and academics – to share their latest advances in knowledge and practice in the field of social work. Its distinguished mission is to contribute to responding to the international and domestic challenges and the proposed solutions in sustainable development and represent the distinct area of social work research.
Following the Global Definition of Social Work by the International Federation of Social Workers (2014, available at https://www.ifsw.org/what-is-social-work/global-definition-of-social-work/), Social Review encourages authors to adopt a systemic perspective in their analyses with a focus on the person-in-environment, also establishing strong connections between practice and research. Suggested areas and themes include:
- Reflections on environmental issues, and theoretical and empirical contributions to the common foci set by the Global Definitions of Social Work and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. These common goals are expressed in The People’s Charter for an Eco-Social World (2022, https://newecosocialworld.com/the-peoples-charter-for-an-eco-social-world/ )
- Empirical studies in the areas of applied social research and social work research (e.g., programme evaluation, policy analysis, or needs-based research in its broadest sense)
- Studies on interprofessional collaboration
- Transdisciplinary studies conducted in the areas that are relevant in social work (e.g., education, law, health issues, social economy, etc.)
- Methodological works describing innovations in social work practice
- Articles on social work research methodology or use of methods in empirical studies that reflect the systemic and in-depth analytical perspective of social work research.
