Abstract

Judit Gosztoła’s critique of the film The Last King of Scotland addresses the superficial treatment of the complex historical events on which the film is based. She discusses how the film frames Idi Amin’s dictatorship within a somewhat romanticized narrative, neglecting historical depth and avoiding a factual, critical analysis of the Ugandan regime.
