He had to buy his family time to escape by running up the mountain slope. This was his role, his “duty,” and although he might have known that it would mean his death, Digit stood his ground. For Munyarukiko and the other hunters, the sight of a silverback male gorilla standing erect, baring his fangs, was undoubtedly a terrifying sight, made even more terrifying by the rapid death of one of their dogs
