One hundred years after Emil Torday, in the summer of 2009, we organized an expedition to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, intending to retrace and document part of Torday's former route. The famous Hungarian traveller spent nearly nine years in Congo between 1900 and 1909 on three research expeditions.
