In the small town of Ebolowa in southern Cameroon, near the Gabonese border, I first bought AMINA magazine on the terrace of a family-friendly hotel in April 2010. At the counter with a surprisingly wide selection of newspapers, I noticed a relatively thick, colourful women's magazine alongside Jeune Afrique, African Business, local ads and real estate newspapers, and several Cameroonian dailies.
