Abstract

When we hear the words migration and Africa in the same sentence, we almost automatically think of the masses of people flowing to Europe. Desperate to reach the shores of Sicily, fleeing conflicts, or simply seeking a better life, masses of people set off every year to the richer parts of the world. Sometime before the beginning of history, the cradle of humanity was also Africa, from where our ancestors set off on their common migration journey together… However, these migration routes that still exist today are incredibly crowded. Distance is also a hindrance, so those who want to leave their homes most often do not look for a destination outside the continent but within Africa.
