Abstract

In October 2015 I spent two weeks in Kenya and Somalia. Three months later I visited Ethiopia for another ten days. My research projects concentrated on two areas: the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Somalia in 2016 and the security situation in the Horn of Africa. The findings of the field trips backed my previous assumptions that in spite of the achievements of the last years the stability is still fragile in the country and the lack of clear political visions and the confrontation between the different Somali political actors can easily jeopardize the results.
