In 2018 a representative survey of the population was conducted on the tourism consumption
habits of the population. The demographic indices used involved, in addition to gender, type of
the place of residence, subjective judgement of the income position and age, the highest
educational attainment of the respondents. Using SPSS statistical software, those questions
were also examined where there was a significant correlation between the independent variable
and the responses given. When analysing the issue of educational attainment, an unexpected
finding was observed which could be explained by the operation of the Dunning – Kruger effect.
