Abstract

Forensic social work is a new and complex field in both social work research and social work practice worldwide. It offers opportunities for social work specialization in civil and criminal law contexts. Every autism-specific life event may have legal implications. Legal knowledge is part of the social work curricula, but forensic social work specializing in legal situations has not yet been established in Hungary. Very few international studies have examined its autism-specific relevance and necessity, and domestic publications are not available on the subject; or these are only tangential ones. Since the professional practice of social work requires this specific knowledge, I explore the possibilities of this special profession in Hungary through stakeholder interviews.
