Abstract

In the current paper the author reviews the main features of the Canadian Portage-model. The organization, which applies the therapeutic community model, has introduced various treatment programs for a number of different target groups. The therapeutic program is based on seven different components: environment, tools, competencies, treatment plan, phases, steps and therapeutic framework. The author’s reflective account of these components is based on his observation and experience in
Portage from November 14 to 18, 2012.
