The aim of this review article is to explore the potential connections between internet addiction and sense of coherence. Reviewing international quantitative studies on the theme, this study concludes that internet addiction and sense of coherence are negatively correlated. Significantly, several studies report a clear cause-and-effect relationship between the two concepts. This indicates that sense of coherence may act as a protective factor against internet addiction. The increasing prevalence of internet addiction and the lack of empirical research findings in Hungary necessitate targeted empirical research projects to investigate the nature of relationship between internet addiction and sense of coherence.
