Dimitrie Gusti's problem-solving model combined social research and intervention. He firstly implemented it during the 1920s Romanian university riots. With the contribution of a small Christian university collective Gusti developed an intervention program aimed at the reform of the university life. The intervention program was coupled with a research on the students’ life. The reform had only been partially implemented, but the gained experience moulded together the first monographic community.
