Author Guidelines

Charges

Publication in this journal is free of charge.

Review policy

The journal operates a two-level review process. Members of the Editorial Board, after assessing the submissions, may accept or reject them or suggest some modifications. When accepted by the Board, a double-blind review process is implemented: authors and reviewers do not know each other’s identities.

For interviews, practice reflections, and book reviews, first-level (editorial) review is often considered sufficient, but editors may choose to ask one independent reviewer for their opinion.

For empirical or theoretical studies, two independent reviewers are asked to assess scientific quality.

Use of artificial intelligence

AI can be used for grammar and style check, as well as for producing translations, graphs, diagrams, and figures.

Free versions of AI are currently not eligible for literature search (use Google Scholar instead), literature review, study design or analysis.

Never use AI for anything that you cannot fully control. Authors, and not AI, is responsible for a submission.

Non-transparent use of AI (for more, please see: https://www.apa.org/pubs/journals/resources/publishing-tips/policy-generative-ai ) is a form of plagiarism.

Average time between article submission & publication

On average, publication in this journal takes 12-14 weeks. Please also consider the following:

This journal follows a strict schedule and is published twice a year, on 30th June and 31st December. Therefore, the time between submission and publication depends on the date of submission and is also strongly determined by the quality of the manuscript. If only one review round is necessary, and the article is accepted without major modifications, then even 4 weeks is a possibility.  However, if several review rounds are required, then publishing may take a year, or even more. To eliminate unnecessary delays, please read the instructions for authors carefully, and use the Open Journal Systems available for submission (https://journals.lib.pte.hu/index.php/szocialisszemle/about/submissions)

Authors should include a Disclosure Statement on the potential conflicts of interest, e.g., “The author claims no conflicts of interest.” If the research or publication was funded by a third party, please indicate if 1. they agreed to publishing the results, 2. whether funding could be a potential source of bias and what was done to eliminate such bias.
