Abstract

In the Kingdom of North-West Region of Cameroon – Esu fondom – the most important women’s secret society is called Ke-fab. The Ke-fab members are in possession of extraordinary spiritual power.
The field report presents not only the ways, conditions and stages of the ancient initiation rite in the Ke-fab society, but also one that is different from the traditional: the initiation of a white woman.
This unusual, untraditional tradition is presented at the request of the head of this secret society in order to preserve the memory of the Esu tribe’s ancestral traditions.
