Abstract

Our present autumn issue opens with an interesting piece by Attila T. Horváth, who writes about the petty traders of Tanzanian cities, based upon a recent field research project from April 2016, using photo documentation from the last couple of years. Another study lets us stay within the East African Community: Anna Lator analyzes a much heavier issue, she looks at mass sexual violence during the genocide in Rwanda. The founder and associate editor of our journal, István Tarrósy offers a paper about the new chapter of Japanese-African relations in the wake of the sixth TICAD held recently at the end of the summer this year. While József Brauer-Benke provides a deep historical and typological analysis of African xilophones, in our book review section, Mihály Benkes and our review editor András A. Gergely introduce two books on African politics. I wish you intense and enjoyable reading!
