Abstract

The intention of this article is to offer an overview of the national project formulated and managed at the National University of Public Service from the spring of 2017, which ran for twelve months using the financial support of a KÖFOP scheme. The paper argues that the project has neatly contributed to the series of initiatives supporting African Studies in Hungary. The Ludovika Research Group entitled Africa in a Globalized World – Opportunities and Challenges held a nation-wide conference on June 1st, 2017, focussing on the Hungarian Africanists’ community and involving them in a debate over their past achievements and future prospects. This study does not only reveal the summaries of the major points of the discussions, but rather aims at synthetizing all the results and ideas of collaboration in a comprehensive narrative, also making transparent efforts to further revitalize the commitments of the Africanists’ community for years ahead.
