Abstract

December 9, 2011 was a particularly important national holiday for Tanzania. On this day, they celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Tanganyika's independence. The anniversary was celebrated not only in the East African country but also by Tanzanians living abroad around the world. The celebration was organized in Budapest at the Kossuth Club by the Hungarian Association of Tanzanians, which also celebrated the one-year anniversary of its establishment. On the occasion of the double holiday, we spoke with Peter Mhagama, the association's secretary.
