Abstract

Urbanisation presents global challenges for cities, where the obsolescence of infrastructure and the spread of urban poverty cause alarming issues. Rapid growth is expected to continue, particularly in Africa, making urgent solutions necessary to promote sustainable development on the continent. The study outlines the urbanisation problems in major African cities, highlighting the need for complex measures, ranging from infrastructure development to improvements in education and healthcare, which are essential for addressing urban environmental injustices, emphasising the importance of raising awareness and active political participation.
