Abstract

The heritage protection and heritage tourism fortunately interwined in the Upper-Tisza region
in the last decade, thanks to the mentality and approach of our hard working professionals.
This region has a special place in hungarian art and culture history for that reason this aera
soon caught the attention of heritage protection.
Medieval churches are mostly used by reformed congregations in this area and the restoration
and the research of these churches systematically improved in recent decades. There
are much more restoration work to do in the next few years, but the archaeological restoration
and conservation research have been done already. The aim of heritage tourism is to be able
to show the importance of the heritages, industrial history left to this generation in this region,
in forms of active tourism by organising weekend tours and using more effective marketing.
We are planning to present how tourism and heritage protection can cooparate, so we introduce
more than 50 stations of the Medieval Temples Path. We also present the main tourist
trends, particular forms of visiting or presenting monuments. We review datas of church and
costumers feedbacks.
