About the Journal

The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management is a quarterly journal, the only scientific marketing journal in Hungary. The journal accepts studies in Hungarian and English.

According to the ranking of the IX. Section of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management was a C class journal before June 2023. After June 2023 the journal is ranked in category B.

 

Mission and strategic aims:

The strategic aim of The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management is to publish the latest and high quality research results in the fields of marketing, management, finance and tourism as an internationally recognised journal. The journal also provides publication opportunities for empirical research papers and review papers. The journal also aims to provide its authors visibility in the national and international scientific community through open access publication.

The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management is the oldest and most prestigious academic journal in the field of marketing. It was first published in 1967 as Marketing – Market Research by the National Market Research Institute and was present on the market since the mid-1980s with the title of Marketing.
Between 1995 and 2012 the journal was published as The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management with co-editing by the GfK Hungary and the University of Pécs Faculty of Business and Economics and since 2012 in the care of the University of Pécs Faculty of Business and Economics. We are very proud to give authors an opportunity to publish their thoughts in a high academic and professional journal with a long history.

The regular issue numbers are accompanied by thematic numbers each year. In the journal, besides the field of marketing science, there are a lot of writings of the representatives of management, finance, tourism, and other co-sciences, so the view of the authors gives an interdisciplinary character. Accordingly, we await to publish the scientific results of the management, finance and tourism industry in addition to the latest marketing knowledge in Hungarian and English. We publish manuscripts that have not previously been published, or which are not in any other journal under review.

 

Information about the editotial work:

The articles in The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management go through a double-blind review process both in the regular and in special issues.
We recommend to the authors’ attention that we check all incoming studies according to our formal and content requirements before starting the double-blind review process. So we please the authors to consider our requirements before submitting their work.

Publication of the studies is free of charge for the authors. We do not charge a fee for any phase of publication. Authors must take care of language proofreading themselves if they wish to use such a service.

The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management provides open access to all interested readers, and we encourage every parties to follow the general practice of citation policy for scientific papers.
