Abstract

Budapest among the most popular cities in Europe again, with a sparkling cultural and night life. All this can
be seen in the awards of Budapest, reflecting to the success of creative industries, design, as Budapest
became the member of UNESCO Creative cities in 2015.
The cultural tourism is under change regarding the motivations of cultural tourists. The modern
travelers consciously search for experiences and involvement and authenticity. That is a why it is crucial to
know whether the traditional heritage particularly the world heritage tourism can fit to these trends. The
main objective of this study is to analyze how the world heritage site of Budapest appears in the opinion of
the international tourists and how they fit to the trends.

To reach this objective a qualitative content analyses was made on the reviews appearing on the Tripadvisor,
which attracts mainly the so called new tourists to share their opinions. As a conclusion it can be said that
the world heritage status of Budapest rarely appear on the Tripadvisor, however they are among the most
popular and visited sites on the Tripadvisor, with a need of better communication and product development
fitting to the new trends.
