The study depicts the changes that have occured in the traffic of health tourism. The study focuses onto
Cserkeszőlő, the most southern-located settlement in the North Plain. The article investigates the history of
the development of the Cserkeszőlő Bath and Medicinal Centre. It also looks into the management of
commercial accommodation since the beginning of the XXI century. It analyses the composition of the
clientele, and the proportion between those who are sent here by doctors or for relaxational purposes. It
studies the proportion of medical treatments obtained by those sponsored by the National Heath Care
Insurance. The study enumerates the sevices provided for those who wish to have not medicinal-specific
treatments. Beside the analysis of professional literature on the topic, it also includes the summary of the
interviews with the managers.
