Abstract

The Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse, known as the Lanzarote Convention is considered the most comprehensive international instrument dedicated to protect children from sexual violence in all spheres of life and settings. The purpose of the study is to present the functioning and practice of the Lanzarote Committe as an international human rights monitoring body along with the challanges it faces as well as to propose solutions how to handle them.
