Peer Review Process

FOCUS: Papers in English Literary and Cultural Studies employs a double-anonymous peer review process.

All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether the manuscript fits the aims and scope of the journal and meets the required scholarly and formal standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage are sent to independent expert reviewers.

In the double-anonymous review process, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review procedure.

Based on the reviewers' reports, the editors may reach one of the following decisions:

• Accept without revisions
• Accept with minor revisions
• Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
• Reject

The final publication decision is made by the Editorial Board on the basis of the reviewers' recommendations and the revised manuscript submitted by the author.

Reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their evaluation. Where such conflicts exist, alternative reviewers are appointed.

The journal follows established principles of publication ethics and academic integrity.
