Abstract

This paper focuses on a specific part of the book of pericopes (1616) edited by Márton Kopcsányi. Kopcsányi gives brief instructions for preachers. He relies heavily on earlier similar notes by Miklós Telegdi (1577). Such prescriptions prove that the diverse earlier textual procedures gradually converged towards unification, taking account of rhetorical considerations.
