Code of Ethics

The purpose of this Code of Ethics - in accordance with the recommendations of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and the provisions of the Code of Ethics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences - is to ensure the purity of scientific public life and to lay down the basic ethical rules to ensure the effective operation of the journal.

  1. This Code of Ethics applies to the members of the editorial board, authors, editors and all other stakeholders involved in the publication of the New Eye.
  2. Principles applicable to the operation of the editorial board of the journal:
    • Ensuring professional quality.
    • Impartial and objective assessment - when selecting publications, authors and reviewers.
    • Full respect of copyright rules.
    • Detection of plagiarism or other abuses. The journal uses turnitin software for this purpose.
    • Ensuring equal opportunities - without regard to gender, orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, class, or political opinions.
    • Confidentiality and proper handling of personal data.
  1. The members of the editorial board must keep confidential any information or unpublished material obtained in this capacity. They must act objectively and impartially in their work, taking into account only objective professional facts and the interests of the journal.
  2. The author must warrant that the work submitted for acceptance is his/her own intellectual creation and that no third party has any right to it which would prevent or inhibit its publication. Authors are obliged to act in accordance with all applicable laws and professional practices in all matters of citation, reproduction and processing. If, after publication, the author discovers errors, inaccuracies or legal obstacles of a significant magnitude affecting the publication of the work, he/she must immediately inform the Editorial Committee and, if necessary, assist in the withdrawal of the publication.
  3. The publication must include the name of any person who has made a substantial professional contribution to its preparation as author/co-author. Contributors may include those who have been involved in any way in the production of the publication, for example in the research that led to it. The names of authors, co-authors and contributors should be given only with their consent.
  4. If the publication is supported by a grant, the fact and source of the grant must be appropriately disclosed.
