Abstract

Cultural and heritage tourism plays a significant role in the tourism market, insofar as tourists are motivated by the exploration of new cultures and the discovery of historical roots. Cultural attractions are also crucial in shaping a tourism image, with an emphasis on creating experiences and storytelling, while sustainability plays a prominent role. The renovation of buildings related to heritage tourism is prestigious and improves the image of the settlement, but the protection of natural and cultural values ​​must be prioritized during modernization.

In our study, we examined the utilization of castles related to heritage tourism based on examples from Fejér County, exploring their various purposes in the 21st century.
