Today's fast-paced world and its negative consequences to the environment influence consumer behaviour, resulting in trends that affect everyday life on a comprehensive scale. One of the major global trends is sustainable development and the emergence of environmentally friendly products. Using these alternatives often involves compromises in order to live the accustomed, comfortable lifestyle. Whether it is clothing, dietary, mobility or transport – that play a major role in tourism –, the implementation of these products into the everyday life is a slow and complex process. But which age group in Hungary claims to be the most environmentally conscious? Who are open to a more environmentally friendly solution, such as an electric car, and which generation is most open to using it? As you know, many people experience the use of these vehicles as a compromise solution due to the relatively low range. The question arises as to whether those who use purely electric cars count on this vehicle during their longer journeys and trips for tourist purposes? Is the electric car charging infrastructure considered to be sufficiently developed that the users of such cars can safely go to their further located destinations? In the study, we try to answer these questions, for which we obtained data from the in-depth interviews we conducted with male and female representatives of 3 age groups who use purely electric cars during their daily commute.
