Reflections on the Collapse of Our Civilisation

The effects of climate change are already part of our everyday lives. Increasingly extreme weather phenomena such as extreme temperature fluctuations, drastic changes in rainfall patterns, “unusually” intense storms or prolonged droughts are phenomena that people in the 21st century will increasingly face as time goes on. Crisis phenomena can be felt in all areas of life, and therefore the complex disturbance affecting our world is called a polycrisis. Are we facing collapse or even extinction in the future, or is there still hope for survival? This paper examines these questions from various aspects.
